Conflict Galactic Cosmic Challenge Review
Eight levels, two bosses, one lonely spaceship against an entire alien fleet — that's the whole pitch here, and honestly it doesn't need much more than that. This is a 2D shoot 'em up in the old-school sense, the kind where you point your ship at the screen and just don't stop firing. The color palette is bright, almost cartoonish in places, which is a nice contrast against all the laser spam and explosions happening on screen. Nothing fancy in terms of story, just a hero, a galaxy, and a whole lot of enemies standing in the way.
Control Scheme
On desktop you're working with WASD for movement, which feels natural enough once your fingers settle into it, letting you slide left and right while dodging incoming fire from above and below. Shooting is mapped to K, and L handles your power-up selection, so there's a bit of juggling between blasting away and grabbing the right upgrade at the right moment. It's a simple four-direction-plus-two-buttons setup, nothing overwhelming, but the timing between dodging and firing is where things get tense. Mobile players get touch buttons laid over the screen instead, which works fine though it does feel a touch more cramped when the bullet patterns get busy later on.
Winning Strategies
- Keep moving constantly — standing still for even a second or two is usually how you eat a hit you didn't need to.
- Save power-ups for boss fights rather than burning them on regular waves; the two boss encounters hit noticeably harder.
- Learn each level's enemy spawn pattern instead of reacting blindly, since repetition rewards memorization here.
- Hug the edges of the screen when swarms appear, it gives you more room to weave between shots.
- Don't mash the shoot button carelessly — controlled bursts help you track what's coming at you next.
- Treat the early levels as practice for reflexes, because the difficulty curve picks up fast once bosses show up.
