Surviving Boss Waves Is About Pattern Reading, Not Reflexes
Most boss deaths happen on a pattern the player never actually watched closely. Four fixes below cover almost every repeat wipe.
Watch the first cycle, don't dodge blind
Most bosses repeat the same opening pattern. Spending the first cycle observing rather than dodging aggressively usually saves more lives than reacting immediately.
Stay near the edges, not the center
Center-screen looks safe but leaves the least room to react. Edge positioning gives more space to slide away from a sudden spread shot.
Save special attacks for openings
Firing a bomb or special the moment it's ready wastes it on an easy phase. Holding it for a genuinely dangerous pattern gets far more value out of the same resource.
Trust the hitbox, not the sprite
A ship's visual size is usually bigger than its actual collision area - squeezing through gaps that look too tight often works fine.
None of this needs memorizing a full walkthrough - a couple of attempts is usually enough to see the pattern clearly.
